Overview

WHO are we looking for?

 

CAPTRUST is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Product Manager to oversee institutional client reporting (retirement plans, endowments, foundations, and other asset pools) and the technologies that support these deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, data analytics, and a deep understanding of client reporting within the financial services industry. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate, timely, and effective reporting solutions that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the product strategy for client reporting solutions and identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform product roadmap and prioritization
  • Define product requirements, create user stories, and manage the product backlog and conduct regular reviews and updates on product development progress, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines
  • Prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on customer feedback and business impact
  • Oversee the development, enhancement, and maintenance of client reporting tools and technologies
  • Ensure the accuracy, efficiency, completeness, and timeliness of client reports and collaborate with data, engineering, and operations teams to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, advisors, subject matter experts, and other third-party partners
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between technical and non-technical teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of reporting solutions
  • Ensure high-quality client reporting by overseeing testing processes and addressing any issues or discrepancies and continuously monitor and improve the performance and reliability of reporting systems
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation and conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities
  • Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including user guides and technical documentation and provide training and support to internal teams and clients on reporting tools and technologies

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, data analytics, or a related field or equivalent years of experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on client reporting

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of client reporting requirements within the financial services industry
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting technologies
  • Experience in the financial services or retirement plan industry
  • Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
