Overview

WHO are we looking for?

 

CAPTRUST is seeking a Portfolio Associate II who will work in conjunction with the Portfolio Risk & Advisory group to oversee and advise upon existing client & prospect assets. From day one, you will have an impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of our daily operations, and a lasting influence on our growth plans. Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator and would be comfortable interacting with peers and managers alike to gain an in-depth understanding of our strategy and services. They will maintain the highest professional and ethical standards, be well-organized, service-oriented, collaborative, and accountable while performing under tight deadlines. This is a full-time position working normal business hours. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:  

Responsibilities

  • Review prospect portfolios to develop actionable items for financial advisors looking to bring in new business
  • Work with financial advisors to outline any red-flag risk items for their clients and assets
  • Develop portfolio proposals for existing clients and new prospects
  • Advise on transition plans to CAPTRUST discretionary strategies
  • Subject matter expert regarding strategies used across the firm
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Investment Group, Client Service, Advisor teams, Performance team, Portfolio Accounting, and Trading Teams regularly
  • Assist or run point on ad hoc requests within the team or from other teams as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience
  • Basic understanding of financial markets.
  • Fluency in Excel and data skills
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Passionate, strong work-ethic, and an eagerness to learn

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • 1-5 years of related work experience in an investment, wealth management or RIA setting
  • Understanding of basic portfolio management, portfolio construction & common risk management issues for an RIA firm
  • Experience working with Morningstar
  • Technology and Coding savvy - Python, SQL, and/or Power BI experience a plus
  • Have or in pursuit of CFA/CFP/MBA
  • FINRA Series 7, 66, and or 65 a plus
  • Collaborative and team oriented
  • Ability to think creatively and critically when problem solving
  • Ability to be detail oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organization skills such as multi-tasking, adapting priorities and meeting deadlines
