Overview

WHO are we looking for?

 

CAPTRUST is seeking a Senior Portfolio Transition Specialist who will work closely with financial advisors, client services, centralized trading, investment group, and third parties to manage transitioning OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) portfolios for endowments, foundations, pension plans, and other institutional clients. In this leadership position, the individual will manage OCIO portfolios during onboardings and transitions by actively communicating with investment managers, custodians, and internal groups:

Responsibilities

  • Architect strategies for onboarding and transitioning new and existing OCIO clients
  • Lead the management of OCIO portfolios during transition events, ensuring compliance with Investment Policy Statements and managing cash levels across portfolios
  • Serve as the subject matter expert evaluating complex situations and apply a high degree of judgement on behalf of investors by analyzing, initiating and/or approving portfolio transactions
  • Collaborate with financial advisors to developing investor strategy through in-depth understanding of CAPTRUST’s OCIO strategies and capital markets outlook
  • Tactfully manage expectations and appropriately communicate proactive updates to financial advisors and investors
  • Actively collaborate with custodians, investment managers and other external vendors
  • Negotiate with external parties on behalf of investors
  • Identify and ensure resolution of operational needs of investors such as new accounts and data feeds
  • Identify process issues/challenges and drive organizational change through the development of creative and scalable solutions
  • Lead high-impact project initiatives for the team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a four-year college degree: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years relevant industry experience; experience in portfolio analysis/management

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent project management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to manage many time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
  • In depth knowledge and passion for capital markets
  • Experience working in either a trading or custodial operational/back-office role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • RedBlack, Advent Suite, or Power BI experience a plus
  • Experience working with endowments, foundations, and defined benefit plans
  • Possession or pursuit of CFA charter or other industry credentials, optional
