Overview

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST is seeking a Financial Counselor who will provide guidance, education, and fiduciary level financial advice to institutional plan participants via the phone. As part of our normal conversation when speaking with plan participants, you will ask questions to better understand their needs and retirement goals. Your conversation allows you to then advise those individuals holistically as to their plan options, provide retirement planning strategies, evaluate their risk tolerance, and make asset allocation recommendations based upon CAPTRUST investment strategies to help them achieve their retirement goals. Wellness conversations typically relate to budgeting, cash management, credit and debt concerns so you will be integral in helping them with best practices, resources, and steps to accomplish their stated goals and delivered, in a positive manner, to encourage follow-through and success.

We primarily speak with participants who have pre-scheduled an appointment with the CAPTRUST at Work desk. Your conversations will be unique and will answer the participants’ questions as well as discover areas of financial concern they may not even be aware of. As an integral part of the At Work desk team, you are making a difference in people’s lives as you provide advice and wellness conversations, not transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial planning and wellness conversations with plan participants via phone
  • Track participant activity in our CRM system
  • Manage specific department tasks such as reporting, ongoing communications, presentation development, and online scheduling tools
  • May conduct educational webinars for retirement clients and plan participants
  • May act as a reservist if an onsite meeting needs to be covered
  • Perform independently and exercise good judgement, with routine supervision

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree (preferred but not required)
  • Professional License/Certification required (65,6, or 7)
  • 2 years of related industry experience; retirement plans and investment vehicles

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Access, GAP analysis tools and vendor website navigation
  • Strong organizational skills (ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines and manage expenses)
  • Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills; including being polished, courteous, professional, and patient
  • Detail oriented; ability to demonstrate good judgement and critical thinking
