Overview

WHO are we looking for?

 

CAPTRUST is seeking a Business Development Associate to support our client acquisition efforts within the wealth advisory and marketing teams. This role is responsible for initiating outbound calls to prospects, introducing our financial advisory services, and qualifying leads for our wealth advisors. The ideal candidate has an overall understanding of financial services, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping individuals achieve their financial goals. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct outbound cold calls to individuals, centers of influence, businesses to introduce the firm’s wealth management services, or to follow up on their attendance at a seminar.
  • Engage prospects in meaningful conversations regarding our lab/discovery meeting process.
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and schedule introductory meetings with wealth advisors.
  • Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, lead status, and follow-ups in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with marketing and advisory teams to refine messaging and targeting strategies.
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly outreach and conversion targets.
  • Provide backup assistance for prospecting events and/or client onboarding (tasks may include paperwork prep, CRM updates, etc.) when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or related field preferred
  • FINRA Series 7 or 65 license is a plus but not required 

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Prior experience in cold calling, sales, or client outreach within financial services or a related industry
  • Strong understanding of the wealth management and financial planning services we provide
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport quickly and handle objections professionally
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and call tracking tools, excel, data analytics
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient in the face of rejection
