CAPTRUST, a leading national independent RIA, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Planner to join our growing team in Boston, MA.

We are seeking an experienced, relationship-driven financial planner who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional client service skills. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor who can lead sophisticated planning engagements, coordinate across multiple disciplines, and help affluent families make confident financial decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead Deep Client Relationships

  • Serve as the lead advisor and trusted partner for high-net-worth clients and families
  • Build long-term relationships grounded in trust, responsiveness, and thoughtful guidance
  • Act as the “quarterback” across all aspects of clients’ financial lives
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively identify planning opportunities across wealth management, tax, retirement, estate, and legacy planning
  • Lead regular client review meetings and ensure timely implementation of planning recommendations
  • Deliver a consistent, high-quality client experience through exceptional communication and service

Deliver Sophisticated Financial Planning

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive financial strategies spanning:
    • Retirement planning
    • Investment strategy
    • Tax planning
    • Estate and legacy planning
    • Risk management
    • Cash flow and wealth transfer strategies
  • Identify and recommend planning opportunities related to taxes, retirement, charitable giving, business succession, estate strategies, and intergenerational wealth transfer
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable recommendations that clients can confidently implement
  • Coordinate planning strategies with clients' attorneys, accountants, and other professional advisors to deliver an integrated planning experience

Provide Investment Guidance

  • Partner with CAPTRUST’s national investment resources to deliver customized portfolio strategies aligned with client goals and firm philosophy
  • Guide clients through market events and evolving financial circumstances with clarity and confidence
  • Help clients understand the rationale behind investment decisions and maintain focus on long-term objectives

Contribute to Growth and Team Success

  • Participate in prospective client meetings and support business development efforts
  • Cultivate centers of influence and referral relationships that strengthen the firm's presence in the market
  • Mentor and support associate advisors and planning team members, sharing best practices and technical expertise
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of planning processes, client service standards, and team development

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of wealth management or financial planning experience preferred
  • CFP® designation strongly preferred (or actively pursuing)
  • Series 65 (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date)
  • Experience leading client relationships independently
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Deep expertise in holistic financial planning
  • Proven ability to identify planning opportunities and proactively deliver value to clients
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear recommendations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
